Macrame Necklace: Bolivianita catched in a web with seeds

This necklace features a beautiful raw bolivianita, trapped in a web on a jacaranda seed.
The bolivianita is the national stone of the my country Bolivia, where it is treasured for it’s great beauty. The bolivianita is ametrine stone, that is a natural occurring mixture of amethyst and citrine in the same stone.

The jacaranda is a nice flower tree that grows throughout South America, the jacaranda shells which contain the seeds inside hangs playfully from the tree. When mature they fall to the ground where the sun opens them up. In this necklace I used one half of the shell, which I picked up in Bolivia. It is truly beautiful, a wooden wonder. The size of the jacaranda shells will depend on the tree, some can be very small, of only one inch diameter and very thin like a leaf, while the biggest can be up to 4 inch diameter and one inch thick. The leaf from the tree make a wonderful cough medicine, we just put a couple leaves in hot water and drink it.

Hanging from the jacaranda, are various amazonic seeds, like acai and jarina, seeds from palm trees of the Amazon jungle. The necklace has a macrame designs with a burgundy and brown linen, also decorated with seeds.

To clasp the necklace insert the seeds into the bead opening. The necklace can be washed with gentle soap and a soft brush. It can be used in water since all of its materials are water resistant.

Macrame Necklace: Turquoise Stone in a Jacaranda Web

SN851678SN851681
A gorgeous turquoise stone, trapped inside a web embedded in a jacaranda shell.
The jacaranda shell is the seed pod of a beautiful tree native to tropical regions, and very abundant in my home town. The green seed pods, resembling wooden turtle shells cover the trees, just hanging out. When the shell dries, it falls to the ground, and eventually the sun opens them up to release the seeds.
It is an amazing natural piece, excellent for eco-friendly projects. The jacaranda shell is found in different sizes and slightly varied shapes. Additionally, the leaves and the flowers of the Jacaranda tree are used for medicinal purposes.
I got this turquoise stone, originally from the Four Corners (US) at a fair in Texas, where I was very impressed by the crafts and jewelry of the native American Indians.
Inspired by the Indian dream catcher, I created this spider web over the shell, which hold the light turquoise in it’s heart. The macrame necklace combines light blue and cream colors. To close the necklace insert the acai seeds into the opening. It can be washed with gentle soap and a soft brush.
